Suge Knight Jr. reveals his father's reaction to Snoop Dogg's takeover of Death Row
There was a time when the relationship between former Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight and Snoop Dogg almost fractured beyond repair. When Knight was sentenced to nine years in prison at the height of Death Row's success, Snoop jumped at the chance and signed No Limit. As Snoop Dogg explained in a previous interview: "I was working against the devil, and by the grace of God, Master P and Priority Records struck a deal that was right for me."

But the two figures of Hip Hop were finally able to bury the hatchet. In a 2019 interview with KXNG Crooked, Snoop said that he had nothing but "big love" for Knight.
"I've never hated it," he said at the time. "You know, they really tried to do whatever they tried to do to me... [but], I don't have that in me, that's not in my system."
But for some reason, people seem to overlook their repaired friendship and assume that the jailed Knight is mad at Snoop Dogg for owning the Death Row Records brand. Speaking to TMZ, Knight's son made sure to set the record straight, calling the acquisition a "win for the West Coast."

"I'm happy like everyone else," he says in the clip. “I knew in advance that this was going to happen. This, to me, is like a silent win because I talked to all of these executives myself and pitched the merchandising ideas for the rebrand. Now that I see it fall into Snoop's hands, I'm happy he's back on the west coast. Hopefully now we can start winning. We lost Nipsey [Hussle], we lost Kobe [Bryant], we lost a lot of things.
“Even after my father went to jail, we started losing. Hopefully we start winning with the Rams and we start winning now. I've seen the comments that think, 'Suge Knight is punching the air,' but no, we're great. We just have to do business right and start earning. Hip Hop is like WWE, it's the fans who create narratives, it is what it is. Eazy-E and my dad were great, Snoop and my dad were great, a lot of people are great in the industry. People just don't understand that. I hope that people understand that we are not hitting the air, we are working. Hopefully we're all on the same page."
