Fans React To Marques Houston and Wife, Miya Dickey Welcoming First Child

Congratulations are in order for Immature singer Marques Houston and his wife, Miya Dickey as they have welcomed their first child. On December 2nd, Dickey gave birth to daughter Zara Houston, according to Us Weekly. A joyous occasion indeed, but the couple is once again facing a bit of criticism from social media users.

Speaking with US Weekly who exclusively revealed the news, Marques Houston gleefully expressed details about his new daughter. According to the Naked singer, baby Zara was given her name because her mother simply felt that it was “exotic” and “memorable.” Houston raved at how “surreal” the moment still feels for both himself and his wife to the outlet. But what constantly reminds them of their new foray into parenthood? The fact that their sleep has now been challenged thanks to baby Zara.

The former Sister, Sister star took to Instagram to share pictures of their beautiful daughter, as well as a few maternity shots from Miya Dickey. Prior to revealing the news of her birth, fans were not privy to the fact that Dickey had been pregnant. Much like most of their relationship journey, the couple chose to keep the information private until they felt necessary to invite the world in.

Houston’s joy spilled over to his social media as he not only thanked God for Zara’s safe delivery but also praised his wife for carrying their child. “Beauty in rare form,” the entertainer sings of Miya underneath a maternity photo. “A child is such a blessing from Jehovah. A woman’s body is such an amazing creation to be able to carry a full human.” The new #GirlDad continued in the expression of love towards God and Dickey while she would return the love in his comment section. “Thank you for making me a mommy,” exclaimed Dickey. “And thank Jehovah for such the beautiful blessing to carry our beautiful daughter, and giving us such an unexplainable & unconditional love! She is our biggest blessing.” Dickey would also share photos of their journey on her own social media pages as well.

Since the public has been given access to the knowledge of Houston’s relationship with Dickey, the couple has been under immense criticism. Namely, due to the fact that there is a 20-year age difference between the two of them. The couple, who are practicing Jehovah’s Witnesses, first announced that they were together in October of 2018 and after just 5 months of dating became engaged in March of 2019.

After intense criticism, Marques Houston defended the couple’s decision to be together and offered clarifications to debunk any allegations. According to the singer, he was introduced to his then-future wife in 2018 through Chris Stokes’s daughter at a Jehovah’s Witness convention. After meeting and quickly falling in love, both families meshed together and continued on in their journey together. Houston took to Instagram to respond to the criticism claiming there’s more to be cocerned about in the world than his relationship to Miya Dickey. The former ‘Sister Sister’ actor also claimed alot of information being released was false.

Miya Dickey would also give her take on their relationship amid the scrutiny. In a past interview with Rolling Out, Dickey insists the two did not begin to date until she turned 18. After meeting and getting to one another’s families, Houston went on to ask her grandmother for “permission to date her” along with her uncles, and then he asked for them to exclusively date.

However, no amount of explanation from the couple could quell the fan reactions to the news of their being together. At the time of the engagement announcement, Users across Twitter took aim at the singer for the 19-years difference in age. Recently, one social media user expressed, “Marques Houston is 40 and just had a baby with his new wife who is 20. Yikes. Yes, I know they’re both grown, but still smh.”
